How much does pool maintenance cost in Alicante?

No honest figure exists without knowing the installation. Volume, use, surroundings, equipment, visit frequency, included chemicals and repairs all affect a quotation.

What makes up the cost?

Visits and labour

Frequency, travel, cleaning time, recorded readings and incident response. Confirm whether the price covers the full year or a season.

Water treatment

Disinfectant, pH correction, salt where applicable and exceptional treatments. Ask what is included and how extras are authorised.

Energy

Pumps, filtration hours and auxiliary equipment use electricity. Any saving should be calculated from your actual equipment and tariff.

Repairs

Seals, filters, pumps, probes, salt cells, leaks and finishes should be separated from routine maintenance.

Why we do not publish an “average”

One Elche provider publishes its own example of around €150 per month for continuous private-pool service and says community pools require inspection. That illustrates one offer, not a province-wide average. To compare quotes, send measurements, equipment details, photos, use, cover, nearby vegetation, known faults and service months. Ask each provider to itemise visits, tasks, readings, chemicals, travel, VAT and exclusions.

Compare Alicante pool maintenance companies and read about chlorine and salt chlorination.

Compare the scope of each quotation

A monthly price tells you little unless the service is specified. Ask each company to work from the same description of the pool and itemise the following.

ItemAsk the provider
VisitsFrequency, season covered and incident response.
Water checksWhich readings are taken and whether a log is supplied.
ConsumablesWhich chemicals are included and how exceptional treatment is approved.
EquipmentWhat is inspected and which repairs or replacement parts are excluded.
Travel and taxCoverage area, travel charges, VAT and cancellation terms.

For communal, public-facing or tourist facilities, ask a suitably qualified provider what requirements apply to that installation. Spain's Royal Decree 742/2013 sets technical and health criteria within its scope.

Private pools, communities and seasonal opening

A private pool used occasionally may require a different schedule from a community pool. Clarify whether visits cover the whole year or only the swimming season. A one-off recovery of neglected water, a leak or a failed pump should be quoted separately from routine service.

Salt electrolysis adds equipment to maintain, including the cell and any pH-control system. Automated chlorine generation does not eliminate testing and cleaning.

A useful quotation brief

  • Share approximate volume or measurements and photos of the pool and plant room.
  • Identify filtration and disinfection equipment and any existing faults.
  • State desired frequency, coverage months and the tasks you expect.
  • Ask for consumables, travel, VAT, exclusions and repair approval in writing.

Is electricity included?

Do not assume that pool power or water consumption is part of a contractor's monthly service charge. Ask explicitly.

What about replacing a pump or salt cell?

Replacement requires an equipment-specific quotation, not a generic maintenance estimate.

Monthly fees and extras: compare the same period’s total

Multiply the fee by the contracted months and add preparation, excluded chemicals, travel and any already identified work. Keep electricity, water and unforeseen repairs separate. Compare summer and annual contracts by their months and visits, rather than just the monthly figure.

ItemConfirm within the feeWhat may be separate
Regular feeNumber of visits and contracted months; cleaning and checks.Initial water recovery or exceptional cleaning.
ChemicalsIncluded consumables and any limits.One-off treatments, salt or excluded supplies.
EquipmentPlanned inspection, adjustments and follow-up.Additional diagnostics, parts and installation.
Support and travelCovered area and incident contact channel.Emergencies, public holidays and out-of-area travel.

These are questions for comparing offers; companies may include or exclude different items. Request tax-inclusive amounts and written prior approval for extras.
